Hi. I have a obd1 2.8 vr6 in the mk2. Have been thinking about swapping out the inlet and throttle body for a 2.9 one from a corrado. Is it worth it? Looking at old threads the responses seem pretty inconclusive. What's your opinion? Cheers. G
I have done this but on a later M3.8.1 controlled engine. You would increase filling significantly when this is done and the engine will have to be remapped to make use of the extra air.
The filling the engine with air enhances torque or acceleration, if you can meter fuel to it and then prompt combustion at the right time. Mathematically power goes up at those points where the volumetric efficiency is higher.
