Hi folks..... thought it was time to be sensible and re-install the top cambelt cover, but if I use the 2E one it doesn't appear to fit? (Have both older 1800 -8v cambelt cover & 2E item, which are almost identical) , however I'm running the alloy cover in the pic... Any ideas - is the cambelt cover different for the alloy tappet cover version? Thanx
what lower cover did you use? from the 2e or pb? you need the upper cover from a passat i think. i got mine from the scrappy but am unsure of which lower to use!
you need a 2.0 8v upper belt cover from a MK3 Golf, Vento, Passat, Corrado etc. Its a totally different shape. I think it will mate up with the later spec (post 88) MK2 1.6-8 8v lower cover, from models with a plastic upper cover.
well the mk3 lower cover is different, but this is becasue the block is taller so it aint gonna fit a MK2 lump
yeah thats a 2.0 block, note the breather on the front. looks like what you need is the lower cover from a MK3 1.8 spi lump?
