Yeah I guess it could get tight. You may ideally need to swap to DCOE type bodies on a manifold to get the length in. Extensions will be around 130 a set.
seems a very expensive way to make the inlet length greater. i had all kinds of (perhaps daft) ideas for doing this ranging from making the whole width of the slam panel into a large fixed position airbox and linking to it with flexible silicone pipes from each cylinder, to using 60 degree curved silicone pipes with bell mouth flares attached in the ends. it just needs a bit of thought. anyone ever had a custom silicone pipe mould made? or maybe those curved m3 trumpets can be made to fit?
Seventy nine , Made fancy trumpets on a 3d printer That's probably the way to go nowadays as 3d printers are getting cheaper costco do a reasonable size one for less than a grand :
that is very very cool, missed that. thete we are....thats how to do it. make a set, mould them, remake in carbon.
sorry jamesa , ime not the best on the pc . coudn,t get any thing to flag up .proberbly me not clicking right some wher
nice one Jason , keep them coming , should be knocking on the bonnets of the audi touring cars at this rate
I'm just about to put together a 16v for my rally car, to road rally spec. That dictates the use of std plenum and throttlebody (KR or 8V spec). I'm expecting 200+bhp out of that so hopefully that can make it one here soon . Here is a pic of some of the kit of parts I have, JMR will have a hand in this one as well. Be interesting to see what it can make on the dyno.
I have promised to do this so here is a list of EA827 valvers tested at various tuning centres. While this is a fun thread, I will refrain from putting the list from biggest number to smallest as that would not be correct, due to the variability in test measurements from one place to the other and the lack of correlation. So here is the list, which can be filled with more details if required List of 16v measuring 200bhp or greater at various test centers Owner Car Size dm^3 Output bhp@rpm lbft@rpm Place tested Trackcab16v Golf Mk1 Cabby 2.1 203@6800 170@6000 Garage Streamline C/O Misczyk Motorsport Golf Mk1 Hillclimb 1.6 243@9100 141@7000 Misczyk Motorsport RobT Seat Ibiza 6K Sprint < 2.0 240@7500 175@6000 Mikeanics Motorsport PAB Corrado 2.0 201@7600 159@5800 Noble Motorsport IanB/Jamesa Golf Mk2 2.0 202@6700 160@6500 Stealth C/O JMR ???? 2.0 229@7500 172@5500 JMR/AP Motorsport IanSpeedy Golf Mk2 Rally 2.0 249@8300 167@6000 JMR/AP Motorsport Dave R Seat Ibiza 6K 2.0 235@8500 156@6500 Track and Road Paul Bargate Scirocco 2.0 224@???? ???@????
