26 and I just got asked ID

Jesus Christ! Just popped to the local shop for a few ales, nothing new i've been in there plenty of times before, no worries and at 26 I've not been asked ID for some time. Haven't shaved in a week, worked out quite a bit, certainly don't look too much younger than my age.

Placed my 4 bottles of London's Pride on the counter, next thing the cocky young goon serving asks for ID....WTF! I explained I was 26 and that i didn't have my license on me, and even though he'd personally served me a week before, he refused the sale. Fair enough I thought, I'll go home, grab my license and punch it into his head...joke. But it was so embarrasing in front of maybe 7-8people queing, it hacked me off.

Went back, proved my age and then he had to get his superior down to authorise the sale - which means he sold it underage the last time I was there...isn't that a hefty fine?

 

Dont know about the fine but im almost 24 and I always get ID'd

 

i don't understand, how did he sell it underage the last time you were there if you're 26?

anyways, i'm 28 and would have just laughed and called him a ****ing idiot before walking off. certainly wouldn't have given them any of my business again.

Because he must be under 18 to need the supervisors consent to authorise the sale, which means he broke the law last time...anyway, they won't get my custom again, but I've calmed down after a beer, I can't be assed

I do, it's just having to walk all the way home to dig out my ID and then back again in a howling gale narked me. Don't get me wrong, I think underage selling of alcohol should be clamped down on, just this guy was clearly a bit of a jobsworth.

I got ID'd for the first time in about 3 years 2 weeks ago too, and im 26 as well. It was a Polish lass working in a Weatherspoons, so clearly just wanted to make sure. I dont mind, i thought a skinhead made me look older, but clearly not lol.
