oh didums, mk2s available with factory fitted 2.0 8v or 16v, in a beautiful country with nice weather and no salted roads. I feel soooooo sorry for you. :thumbd:

this 2e engine might be the equivalent of the early passat 2e code, which had a slightly different ecu and used a mk2 head! very odd beastie and next to bugger all info on it

I win, only more door golfs made & imported here [:^(]

Head No is 048 103 373, Ecu is 037 906 022. Would be interesting to see how it compares to the digi 2's available over there.

You might well know all of this already, given your first post, but did you guys get the B3Audi 80 / Coupe, or the Audi 90/100/200 of a similar age (Mid-late 80s), or the B4 from the early 90s.

Given the climate I guess there could still be a few of them around. They have the same caliper/carrier spacing as Mk2 golf/passat/Mk3 golf large hubs, and some of them would have had 280mm brakes. My mate's '85 200 quattro had 280mm brakes, although the later ones had the 288mm Teves/ATE setup. The PCD on the discs will be wrong though. If you get 4x108s then you could redrill them 45* offset. 5 stud probably tricky to redrill safely though.

My '94 Audi 80 TDI has 280mm discs and girling '54' calipers. I bet the carriers are the same too.

Yes we did get them, unfortunately they are harder to find than a MK1 Gti. I've only seen 2 of which one was my grans back in the 80's.

SA's sale volumes back in the late 80's to 90's were minuscule, there were only 350 Mk2 with the 2e motor released. Of the 350 about 70% were Jetta's.
