hi, im looking at buying an engine thats has your pack d head with i beleive to be a 282 cam,he said its the raciest you do for the 8v. has a adjustable pully aswell, and 4 branch. but the person says that it gos through bottom ends quite quick, me thinking its a timing issue!
how would i set it up so its going to drive ok till i can get down to you for a proper setup.
this is out of a j reg digi 2.
and whilst im here would this setup running well be ok on a standard luk clutch or should i uprate it.
    thanks
    neil

you should be able to put this cam on the standard timing marks and also run standard ignition timing this should see the car running o.k for you to take it to a rolling road to be setup properly

i got this engine and its going in at the weekend.
its a 1800, with pak c head, larger valves, solid lifters. and the 103 cam and vernier pully and a 4 branch onto a scorpion system and piperx induction.

what should the c/0 be set at and should it be timed at to standard before its setup on rolling road?
need an answer but dont want to bother anyone on the phone.
    thanks.

    anyone...

Set timing stock and co at 1.5% this will be safe to get to a dyno.

I've been offered some 282 cams for a VR6, but can't find any info on them at all, any ideas?

    not really on a vr.

even on the skylines etc for road use seems most ppl tend to go for 260/270 duration.

depends what you want i suppose

Well it's not a daily, might not even be road legal yet, it's just for track days and drag racing really.

My mate had them in his 3.1 but said it'd barely idle but went crazy above 5000rpm.

put them in after you've MOT'd it , don't think it would pass the emissions with 282's

p.s. who care's about idle when its for the track [:D]
