ive seen what looks like a 3dr jetta park close to where i work for a few days in a row, if i can i'll get a pic tomorrow,

did they do a 3dr jetta? are they 'rare'? ive never seen one before, and havent seen any since.

whatever it is, i want it, it looks proper funky.

    Europe only - Mk1s 1 & 2. Should be LHD?

    IIRC they didn't do a 3 - anyone confirm?

ah ive not looked inside tbh, ive just driven past it a few times.

i'll look tomorrow if i get a chance.

if on the chance its RHD i might ask them if they want to sell it to me, will it be a case of uber rare, uber expensive?

    It'll be a 2 door anyway, not a 3 door ;)

Can pick 'em up for peanuts from Germany!

thats something thats always confused me, when to class something as 2dr or 3dr, i would say 3dr as its 2 and a boot, and thats what i was always taught [:$]

im going to germany at the end of the month [:D] it'd be LHD though and im not sure if i could get used to that [:$]

i just really want one as its so cool (imo!)

2 door Jetta's are the BEST!!!!!!!!!
Yes Germany has a few (sliders has 1 for sale atm & its mint but $$$)
If i had the choice it'd be a 2 door jetta rather than a 3 door golf for my track car. (much better weight distribution for starters)

I'm pretty sure they did a Vento 2 door, could be wrong. I know they didnt do a 2 door Bora, so someone made their own in the US, an awesome piece of work

Only MK1's and 2's were ever made in the 2dr version, they only made the MK3 (Vento) in 4dr

Its not that hard to convert the shell over to RHD, I've done mine, same parts as in a Golf

there was a blue 2dr vento in PVW a while back from across the pond that the guy had properly welded in the sides of a golf to a vento floor/roof, amazing piece of engineering from what i remember.

story goes that it was a special order from a guy in the army?
it was brought in from england in 96 i think, would have to check year to be sure,
it was originally rhd alright, its a gli model

only know of 2 including this one in Ireland
and the other one was rhd originally aswell
