Following on from gvks results using a 50mm inlet on his 2l i decided to try one on mine again.
Took a dremmel to it first and took loadsa metal out around the throttle body area including a huge lump blocking no1 runner and match ported the 2 halfs together.
Took it for a spin and it feels like i havent lost any low down torque but just gained from 4k upwards! Now i dont have hard dyno evidence,im just stating how the car drives after the modification ;)

Think it might be a bit mis-leading,as prof says,it seems they are better on 1.8s

......as he goes looking for cliff
What i meant is people with there 1.8s will now think 50mms are pants and change em cos of your graphs, thinkin they only gain 1bhp.
Remember i live on the isle of wight and am surrounded by cliffs [:D]

I think what flusted is trying to say is that people are taking garys graphs as gospel, and after seeing it, everyone has now decided to ditch their 50's for 42's (not that thats garys fault of course). Thing they dont realise is that the 50's will work differently on different setups, its just that garys setup favours the 42 :)

.. when I had the Schricks in and a small inlet I only had like 2bhp peak more than it is now [:s]

can't see that gasket doing any harm but it will alter the overall tract length slightly

    These gaskets are snake oil.

The engine will still generate the same ammount of heat. Assuming the gasket works as well as they say ( fuckwhits can't even spell "detination") what you're doing is removing a large alloy heatsink from the side of the head, where's that heat gonna go, Portland, Oregon for a holiday?

Best way of keeping the inlet cool is by removing the bracket at the back for the throttle cable - that gets red hot when been run...
