just wandering how difficult it would be to fit anew(ish) 6 speed vw box to my mk1 g40? any ideas? cheers
Polo/Lupo GTI box should do the trick, speedo could be a problem, mounts can be fabficated if needed, cant see inner CV's being more than a case of matching parts up, not sure what the linkage is like.
the g40 i bought as a donor car only came with a polo gt box(found out after i bought it...), so i want to get a better one. lupo/polo gti box sounds good, any idea where i could get one? ill try scrappies/breakers etc. i reckon it'll be at least 350-400 being so new
well 02m big 6speeders are 4-600 ish if dead new so i guess you could get it a lot cheaper as a lot of breakers won't know what they have,
I'm pretty certain gt boxes have the same ratios as g40 boxes, its just the final drive thats different.
