No, all the 2.0s were cast iron block. Plastic manifold is no fire risk, as stated, pressure from blowbacks is a problem though, which is why they have a pressure relief valve built in.
much like one of my old 911's.. in fact the pressure relief valve was a must have aftermarket accesory The block is the same as 20v turbo so the mk1/20v turbo conversion mount can be used.. Its 81mm bore like the 20v, but short stroke.. just like the mk2 golf 1.6 EZ engine and anyone who remembers them will remember how they loved to be revved. The AKL's valve's are of a reasonable size too 40.5/33 I believe..
Ah yes, the pop off valve - must fit one of those to my C3.0 - last time it had a big backfire, it blew the rubber boot off the metering head.
