Can anyone confirm this camshaft is for a mk2 golf 1.8 GTI. Im looking to buy it but looks odd, Been told It's a 8v GTI cam. I'm looking to fit it to my 1.6 driver.

Some numbers the seller can make out.

lumps and bumps need to be more rounded and larger to be called a 'cam'

Thanks Jon olds. the cam is just to liven up a 4+e engine not a driver as stated. I already have a Webber 32/34 carb fitted.

Mild is great for a road car, that spends 90% of its life below 4000rpm

I have never seen a GTI cam that looked like that, the cut on the base circle is new to me

some have and some dont, perfectly fine.

I vaguely recall someone saying it was to help rotate the cam buckets a bit more to keep the wear more even, but dont hold me to it
