8v or 16v G60

    So whats the best then?overall in every aspect.as i am getting one of the engines to put in my mk2 and dont know which is best overall!!!so i thought id create a vote duel to help me decide

    the 16v is best..but vw only made 70-80 of em good luck finding one...or make your own

    btw..the thing at the top is wrong all corrado and golf g60s are 8v ...only a golf limited was 16v g60

    If I may correct you, the Corry didnt get the 16v G60 lump, the G60 'Limited' is the only production car VW saw fit to install it in (and only 72 examples at that)
    Thats not to say you cant create one your self of course, there is a 'How-to' on the net somewwhere

    ah beaten to it again, if I could type faster......

    Whatever you do dont buy any info on this conversion on E-Bay.... rumour has it some little scrote has printed some info that is freely available on the web and is selling it as his own.

    Look up JD engineering and look for a mk1 16v G60 in dark green. :p

    yeah but the corrado g60 engine looks identical to my 16v gti engine.its got the same inlet that came on all 16v gtis.it looks differnt to the golf g60 engine i thought?if its the same as the golf g60 then i see my exact engine with a super charger on it!and on engine descripion it said it was out of carrado g60!!!!!!can some1 answer this as i have already made a p**tt of myself yet again

    The only 16v G60 was the G60 Limited.... rare!
    The Rado and Golf both had the 1.8 8v G60.

    if you can find a 16v G60 engine then fit it.



    but they are rarer than's hen's teeth.

    would guess that its a conversion someone has done, for the money it has to easier to do a 1.8T 20v but it's not as interesting....

    16v g60 is a custom job really as proper limited engines are gunna be uber money

    If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there two Corrado 16V G60 Syncro's made?

    I do seem to remember summat like that, possibly in bright yellow with horrid body kits on.
