I had my renewal quote from HIC which was 332 but with 525 excess! but i could drive other cars. I rang adrian flux told them my renewal quote and they beat it! Quote off them was 268 with agreed value and excess of 200 but i cannot drive other cars. Rang HIC up and told them what adrain flux had quoted me they were furious saying adrain flux should not have done that because they are a sister company They quoted me 269 but with the excess of 525 still Looks like Flux are gonna get my business as their excess is a lot cheaper
very odd, you would think the same company Adrian Flux, being the parent would be controlling the prices to be tighter, not way out like they still are
I know i am sure i told them it was with HIC, she kept asking if they knew i am sure i did tell them. I didnt keep ti from them anyway i know that. 268 is a good quote tho aint it HIC's excess is crazy don't you think
Is 200 about the norm The guy on the phone for Adrian Flux said that was standard with all of their policies
Ive just done the same today. Quote from A Flux 321 with 200 ex and HIC was a couple of quid cheaper but with 500 ex so i just went with A Flux instead. They also said the same thing about being sister companies! Why arnt they brotherly companies???
yup they did the same to me last month. I've been with HIC for the last 8 years on the same car but this year the renewal was 320 ( london postcode I s'pose ? ) Phoned up A.Flux who did the same deal for 170 So this year I'm with Flux
It worries me that HIC will soon be swallowed up by Flux; then there will be no real alternative to buying insurance off flux. By buying HIC, Flux have pretty much eliminated the competition - who's to say that this 500 odd excess hasn't come from Flux in the first place, in order to ruin HIC? HIC have always been good to me, but I wouldn't trust Flux as far as I could throw them
Hmm... I have just renewed with HIC, and I regret it a little bit. Only after I came off the phone did I think about that 470 quid excess and realise what a complete and utter pisstake it is. Edited by: Trev16v
Is that the full excess they are quiting you? Or is that plus the excess they load on depending on your age if less than 25?
I've no idea. I'm over 25 anyway. I did ask if there's any way to reduce it, and I got the impression that it can be reduced if you go fully comprehensive (I'm on TPFT at the moment).
