A4 1.8T into a B reg Audi 80

    Anyone know if an inline 1.8T from an A4 wil go into a B reg Audi 80 withthe inline 1.8 carb engine?I know it's off topic but my mate has the chance of a 1.8T, gearbox, driveshafts, loom an ECU for 800 notes and he's champin at the bit...

    Yup, it'll fit- might be tight to the bonnet though. Even the 8v motor runs
    close for height. If its a budget job and you want to use the original loom
    etc. Make sure you've definitely got everything. ie. keys, clocks,
    immobiliser transponder from steering column/ingnition barrel area.
    Otherwise you'll have a hard time firing it up.

    can't you get those old 80's with the quattro running gear? hmmmm ;)
