ABF cam chain and gears

    What milage to replace and how to determine the chain is past its best? Any point in replacing the cam gears? Where for best prices w good quality?

    If the chain is noisy, replace it. If not, leave it alone.

    If you've got to take the cams out, replace it, if not - leave it alone, never seen one break, has anyone else?

    I put one in mine from GSF when I did my 9A swap 3 years ago, was about 10 [:D]

    It rattles for about a second on startup but I recon that's the tappets I'm hearing but it's quiet as a mouse and buttery smooth otherwise. Thanks Gary.

    99% of valvers I've heard rattle for a second on initial start up. :lol:

    Aww cool so its an engine trait and here's me thinking about cleaning the tappets after running on a litre of ATF fluid for a week... or are they just all sh@gged?
