Hi, having done an abf conversion in the past to a mk2 where I used the mk2 rod change box and running gear.

I would like to know is it possible that I can use wide track from the donor car and still retain the rod change box currently fitted to the car. I found that going cable change on abf conversions really kills the performance.

Donor car would be a mk3 16v golf and the car getting converted is a 1990 mk2 golf gti
    8v.

    Thanks,
    G

    Hey G.

Yep. You can keep the Rod change box. Just use all the parts from the rack arms, driveshafts, wishbones, hubs etc from the doner.

Fit the mk2 clutch and flywheel from your current engine.
