I have just installed an ABF block in my MK2 and am toying with the idea of making and fitting a Megasquirt ECU and MegaJolt Light (edis) to controll the fuel and timing.

My question is, the position sensor on the block near the gearbox end..What configuration is it?

The ford edis system described in the texts uses a 36 - 1 wheel..

I don't think it will work, otherwise the yanks wouldn't all be having to find themselves F*rd trigger wheels and bodging them on. Megasquirt'n'Spark looks pretty straightforward to implement on a 16v, that's what i'm planning to do. Clicky

Cheers badger... Not gonna use the info just yet but it'll be handy in a bit. Dont know if I'm gonna use the ford edis system to get rid of the 16v's crappy distributor (with no way of controlling advance). If i do I think I'm gonna have to fit a ford 36 tooth wheel.

    Have to investigate some more.

Er, Megasquirt'n'Spark? No extra hardware required, you use the hall sender in the 16v's perfectly adequate distributor as a cam position sensor and fire the coil using the existing ignition module.

Cool. Been looking at it a bit more. Gonna get my hands on an ABF intake manifold, throttle body and fuel rail anf buil one I think. Might just build the megasquirt first, then go to the spark. Has anyone done this?

Do you use the distributor to controll the ECU or just the spark side of things? I have the ABF CPS if the ecu needs a separate one.
