    Hi,

    I Got An Mk3 Golf Running ABF 2.0 16v
Its was originally running an ABF but had one fully re-built

Ive fitted it and im 99% sure that all the plugs are where they should be
It struggles to start without throttle but soon as it has alittle bit of throttle its fine

but soon as you come off the throttle it will stall, i can hold the throttle so its idling around 1000-1100 and it fines, runs smooth as ever

    Anyone got any ideas???
A couple of friends of mine said that cause the block is painted the sensors on front of block could have a poor contact with it, so im going to clean them up

    Cheers
    Jb

Sounds like your idle speed valve (on front of intake manifold) isn't doing it's job
I think that is what you should check for painted contacts first

It was a faulty idle control valve, find a old one knocking about soaked it in carb cleaner, dried it out
    works a treat
