Is this possible? Or am I looking at a pita conversion?

Car is running aqn, 02m, vr6 wide track (abd sensors are there). Also a ce1 fusebox.

    Anyone?

    Thanks in advance!

definitly possible, the mk4 ecu wont talk to it but you code that out. the mk3 abs unit doesnt care about what ecu is fitted it does its own thing

Quick question about mk3 abs unit late model with ecu on pump. We put on a 2dr jetta, believed to be broken unit, replaced with another used pump different pn, but this one had a codding incorrect error. This error did not go away, and found nothing to code on the unit. What is with that error?
Turns out the old unit needed bleeding with pressure on the reservoir.

I'm not massively clued up on these but hopefully can chime in. if the old unit can still be scanned with vagcom though you copy the coding from the old one to the new one. beleive there may be looped wires between pins to enable/disable some features similar to mk4 so i guess if coding doesn't macth the loom thats why?

So mk3 abs ecu/unit is totally separate from the main ecu loom?

Yes it all unplugs and totally separate. On the MK3 the loom goes in the passenger side and across behind the dash, I've had a fair few of these over the years I strip down for spares as they come with 2 fuse and relay holders which are always needed on my looms :)

Mk3 abs are early with ecu under back seat and late pump+ecu unit? I have fitted a late one to mk2 jetta and was simple enough.
What about the early model? Are they reliable?
