    Hi all,

So I need to remove these locking wheel bolts from my Mk2. I have misplaced the key much to my annoyance. How will I get them off without damaging the rims?

There is an outer coller that spins. Tried an Irwin left handed bolt extractor which would work but the depth of the bolt in the tapered hole is too great so the extractor is fouling the rim damaging the fresh paintwork

Also tried a genuine Gator grip socket that failed instantly :thumbd:

Has anyone got any experience of the Dynomec tool which this type of locking bolt head?

    Happy new year BTW.

Can order a new key if you have the code that's in the box.

If not then you need to break that collar off before trying to grip the bolt. Try something that will split it

Same tool as the Dynomec. It works well and didn't cause any damage!

cut the outer sleeve off with a small grinding burr and smack a socket over it for the low tech solution
i do like the look of the tool above though

but i'v always been in a rush to get the wheels off ie a flat or changing to winter wheels when it's snowing

You`d do well to get the sleeve off like that without damaging the wheel though.

Good to hear you sorted it

Looks like a useful piece of kit. Little bit steep in price @ 155

would one of those sockets that fits any size nut and is filled with about 25 sprungloaded bars work?
so three would hopefully manage to push into the pin holes.
