I'm going to need a brake bias valve to the rear brakes, after info plumbing in. at the moment I'm running a large master cylinder (24mm) and disc's all around on the my mk1 the set up is a diagonally split - plumbing (NSF & OSR - outlet & OSF & NSR on other), as stock cars in case of failure of one pipe I 've found 2nd hand bias valves that just 1 circuit like this one my question is if i run the rear brakes from one line (1 does 1 front & other front / rear via valve) will the the fronts be mis matched? I'm thinking they will Are bias valves available as same dial type with 2 circuits controlled from same dial?
They need piping one front, one rear, to run those adjusters. I can't remember whether I ran two out of the m/cyl outlets for the front and one for the rear, but it comes down to pressure within a fluid system, down equal bore pipes. Does that answer? re: bias valves and discs on Mk1s, have a search on 'mini bias valves' - Mk1s can be a bit marginal on just a standard bias valve, and I've written it up before. Will be interested to hear from any other Mk1-ers piped front-rear on aftermarket bias valves though - see how they're finding them.
mine comes out of the m/c to a valve then to the rear beam and split there for the 2 rear disks . so you can adjust the amount of preasure going to the rear .
yeh 1 goes to the rear and 2 goes to the fronts . no probs with locking up chris and i think they are mk3 calipers . but i would like to know what the % of split it really is . any ideas ?
i've one the 2 outlets in MC, as was planning ABS unit, which FYI has pressure reducer built in, VW from 2000> with ABS won't lock up rear on MOT test off foot brake! not to worry they do achive high numbers
