Hello Folks following my recent project alot of questions have been asked by myself and other regarding the -

Aftermarket Engine Managent Systems used and Injections systems used and the different types of ancilliaries available for the set ups.

so i thought it would be a good idea to list the options available and the systems everyone is using to help as a guidline for others starting projects.

Here's my Project & set up

    1983 MK1 Golf GTI 2036cc ABF Block/ KR 051 Flowed/Ported Head - car installed in
MTECH ECU (uses MS1 V3.0 PCB & Megatune software) - ECU used
Jenvey 45mm Direct To Head - TBs used / diameter
DTH - Inlet mani origin / or DTH
    330cc Injectors @ 4bar (60psi) - Injectors
Ford magnetic sensor - Crank Sensor Part No TBC (deleted)
Eurspeed External crank sensor bracket - crank sensor mounting / bracket
ABF Distributor & Hall sender - ignition
Eurospeed Dizzy Blank Plate - Blank plates
OEM 16v Throttle cable - throttle cable type / does it fit the OE pedal
Badger 5 alloy mounting bracket - throttle cable mounting (Jenvey / OEM / Badger etc)
FSE FPR Adjustable c/w gauge - Fuel Pressure Regulator

    Mk1 Golf GTI 2.0 16V

    Main hardware

    • ECU: DTA EXP 48 (was DOS, Windows s/hand version just picked up for 150 off racecarsdirect.com for better functionality, though DOS versions can be upgraded to Windows by DTA - 25 I hear).
    • Throttle body / inlets: Lumenition/Jenvey non-direct to head, non-DTH, c/w TWM inlet manifold
    • Throttle linkage: Lumenition/Jenvey
    • Fuel rail: Jenvey
    • Throttle cable: Halfords cycle brake cable, shortened (outer casing stripped at bulkhead, original cycle adjuster is bolted with washers through bulkhead original hole), fitted to late Mk1 Cabrio throttle pedal (different to earlier ones), crimped with drilled-through coach bolt + nut, fitted through OE pedal aperture.
    • Coolant take off under TBs: OEM plastic ABF item, shamfered at an angle, OEM rubber seal groove recreated with Dremel
    • Dip stick tube: bent towards head to allow access through TBs
    • Dizzy Blank Plate: Fabricated using remnants of a distributor + original integral inner seal, with centre filled

    Sparks

    • Coil pack: Wasted Spark Coil Pack Valeo 245079 or GSF R92503 (Renault Clio 1.2 / Laguna or Megane 16V (F5R engine). Pug 106 also similar. Made by Sagem.
    • Plug leads: Nology hot leads. OEM Golf 16v also used.

    Fueling

    • Fuel Pressure Regulator: Bosch 0 280 160 001, with extra washer under top nut to raise pressure
    • Fuel Pump: Mk1 Golf GTI - OEM Bosch, run with OEM accumulator, and OEM GTI fuel tank with integral swirl pot.

    Sensors & control

    • Crank sensor: Ford 2-wire, part no marked on it is 948F 6C 315 AA ('engineering no'), parts counter number is 6740816, fitted to a lot of cars (Mondeos, Transits etc). 29 new. Gapped to 0.7mm to 1.0mm.
    • Crank sensor mounting / bracket: external mounted to two M8 holes in block, just to rear of external wheel. Fabricated origin, similar to the one Brookster has.
    • Trigger Wheel: TBA no of teeth
    • Throttle potentiometer: Ford 91XF - 9B 989 - BA (believe Escort RS 2000 Mk5, but imagine fitted to other Fords), with Colvern as spare.
    • Air temp: Lucas / Intermotor, SNB 801 / INT55701. Equates to: Mini 1300 92-95, Metro/Rover 114 90-98, Rover 214/220 & 414/420 1990> & also Turbo Coupe 92>, Jag XJS 3.6 and V12 1982> & Jag XJ6 89-94.
    • Water temp: 026 906 161, believed to be an Mk3 Golf 16v (ABF) OEM temp sensor. Bosch number is 0280 130 040. Other markings include '369' and '050', the latter in a circle.
    • Lambda probe (for separate AFR guage - I don't run the DTA in closed loop): Bosch 032 906 265 or 0 258 003 478/479 "LP18", from Polo Mk4

More details / pics on my build thread - any Qs, please ask on that
