Tried to remove one of the front wheels from my valver the other day. Removed the bolts, wheel would not budge. Whacked at it with a rubber hammer and it still stayed put. Presumably it's got corroded on. Whoever didn't put 'em on last didn't use copper grease I suppose.

Is there anything I could try applying around the back of the wheel to free it from the hub? Surely someone else has been in this mess.

That's the problem. The rubber hammer itself gave up and disintegrated :)

Aye I'll have another go. Just wondered if there's something I could pour down behind the wheel and leave for a few days to try to free it up a bit.

leave the wheel bolts slightly loose and drop the car onto the ground,if that didnt shake it loose gently drive around till it comes loose..obviously dont drive on the road like it,just up n down the drive etc

    Hmmm.. Blowtorch and an axe!!!

No seriously give it a kick at the top then at the bottom and it should shake loose, if not then as suggested above - drive it up and down the drive with loose nuts and it will come loose.

When it's off, use a small amount of copper grease to prevent it happening again.
