Amp gauge

    Hi I have this to go in my console but not sure where to connect it to [:$] . Can anyone help it's a 1.8 carb engine if that makes a difference.

    I wouldn't bother to be honest. It only tells you well ya battery is charging etc, and you 've got a light to tell you that on the dash.

    Plus, you have to run a very big wire from the alt or battery, all the way up to the gauge and back again.

    Basically the whole car's power runs through the gauge.

    Okay perhaps I'll chuck it in to fill the hole then ;) . I had read that you need big wire but the ones I took off were very small so thats why I asked.

    I guess you could use it for another circuit.

    How many amps ya stereo amps are darwing?? [:D]

    Think to remember is this type of gauge needs to be fitted in series in a power wire.

    To make it read correctly, you need to fit it in series with the battery.

    Which means running really thick cable (thicker than the one from the alternator to the battery), all the way from the battery to the dashboard and back again.

    It's not worth it.
