are you asking about chipping an already superchargedgolf (e.g. a G60), or supercharging a normally aspirated golf (e.g. a GTI)?

if you mean supercharging rather than chipping, its a lot more work than just bolting a 'charger on and swapping the chip!! lots of money and lots of expertise.
don't have one myself, but you can be sure that supercharging any engine will make a huge difference.

    i wouldn't be suprised if they sold a bolt-on charger look-a-like!

emma, supercharged engines need to run much lower compression than normally aspirated engines - meaning major work to the inside of your engine to get it to run a supercharger. if you just bolted one on it wold blow very big holes in your pistons (at least).

thats not true, i bought a 1600GBP eaton supercharger for the golf. my dad installed it on my mk3 golf gti, (3 hours).

and this is just the kit which means that there is everything you need. i dont think you need to do major work to ur engine.

maybe it was a purpose built charger that upped the compression from 8:1 to about 11:1 (where pre-ignition would normally start to set in)?

can't see it being particularly effective tho.

it's quite possible to add a charger without changing internals but you'll be restricted on the level of boost you can run. As the Eaton's run quite hot i hope you're running an intercooler.
I'd be worried about using a naturally aspirated EMS on a forced induction car, again you'll be restricted on the boost you can run.
if you bought the lot as a kit then it should state whether or not you'll need to adjust fuelling etc.
where did you get the kit from and what did it comprise of?

    click me

they seem a little pricey for what you get, depends on the kit it seems to weather you need to get a different chip. "Custom proprietary GIAC software is supplied with this kit to safely re-align all fuelling and engine management parameters" this must be some kind of in circuit serial programmer

looks good, but sod all use for your money. Better off buying a new car

i recieved the neuspeed performance chip, but i broke. i reordered one will be recieveing it soon.

i have driven the car with this m90 eaton for about 2 months, with the standard vw chip and it is still brilliant but i know for sure that the new custom made chip will allow more mixture of fuel and air.

is it the VF kit you are using then? Is no intercooler used then?
i'd be a little worried about using the necessary chip, particularly that we currently have a spell of hot weather
