    Plan is to retro fit electric mirrors to my mk2 and want to make up the loom myself. Can’t find these crimp pins that go in the block connector to the switch on the door card. Anyone know if they’re are a standard type pin (and where to get em) or specially made by VW for this purpose?

    Looks really close doesn’t it. If it’s not I’m pretty sure it’ll do the trick. Thanks bud.

    I don’t think Tristans solution will work. If the pin clips in then it is a different design.
    Have you tried VW? Sorry if too obvious a question.
    Its electrical so @rubjonny must know………?

    I’d just cut the plug and repin them with something easy to get hold of or something you’ve already got

    But that looks designed to slot into something specific.

    Same as MK1 Golf cluster and handbrake light pins, you cant get them bare any more, the repair wire is also NLA now as well :(

    part numbers when you could get:
    925883-1/2 - MK1 clock pin, 0.5-1mm2 (2-3) Federkontakt 3x1 - (N 017 191 2 -> N 017 191 4) 3558-997-4
    963779-1/2 - MK1 clock pin, 0.5-1mm2 (1.4-2.3)

    Thanks guys, can’t find anything in the RS catalog (even though they have 152 pages of crimp pins) and no joy from VW. Looks like an improvised job is on the cards.

    I’d replace them with something like XT60 connectors that I use on my RC cars but that’s because I have them laying around. I’ve used the same on speaker cables before too

    keep an eye out for corrado door looms and people breaking them. electric mirrors were standard fit and its all the same plugs in the doors as mk2 golf. if you can get a complete loom even better but its not strictly necessary as the only bit you cant replicate these days is from mirror switch to inside the car and that is easily adaptable from corrado -> mk2 so long as you get a nice uncut section

    Thanks bud. I’ve been reading your guide (er, awesome) but the photos of the applicable appropriate model switch types are crossed out and not visible. Is this one correct one for Mk2?

    No thats a corrado/passat type, but it'll still work ok. I've fixed my thread anyway (google images shut down so all my image links across the forum need to be redone. yaaaaay)

    Grand. It’s a great guide. I thought it would be that one to match the CE2 stalks which also have that diagonal hatching. Live and learn.:thumbup:
