I've bought a thermostat housing and 90° elbow for my abf engine, but it doesn't come with the metal clip that slots into the groove. Does anyone know where I can get one? Is it something a local car parts shop would stock?

Is it called an omega clip? You will need to measure the diameter you need and find something to fit. Not sure if a car parts shop will have the correct one.

part number is 037121142A, the ebay link is a mk4 number 1J0 so may not work?

the next question is if this is in a MK3 or a MK1/2, if in a MK1/2 you'll probably want to bin the whole thing and fit a MK1/2 flange instead to suit MK1/2 rad and hoses
