Just been in me mates vectra on the way to the valet place.
Waiting to turn right into it and we get rear ended by a saxo.
My friends back is hurting quite bad and mine is stiffening up now the adrelalin's wound down and for some reason in stead of going hospital I'm on this forum.....[:s]

The other guy was in a saxo vts, his head hit the windscreen near the top and his chin landed on the steering wheel so he can't have been wearing a seat belt.

Don't worry we're both using ice packs every hour and we're both going hospital in the morning as it's too early for any problems to show properly yet.
To give you an idea of the conditions it was a wide road about 3 to 4 car widths, sunny weather and light traffic.

Oh, I'll stick some vid's on youtube later showing the scene straight after the accident. gonna try grab a few hours kip first.

and when I wake up I might have a go at finding both car's weights and working out what speed he was doing by how far my mates car was pushed.

That just about shows where his head hit the windscreen.

That shows the conditions on the day and level of traffic.
My friends car was stopped by the exit to that junction so we could turn right into the car valet place, the middle lane was taken up with a car about to turn right into the junction so we couldn't move over.

    uploading a vid now.

Yeah, they had a mascot outside the car valet place.
anyway back to the hospital, or pub if you want to be technical

EDIT: I guess strangely enough that guy in the spongebob suit is the best witness we had.

So the spongebob WAS a real person then.

I was scanning across that video over and over again trying to work out whether it really was moving around, or if it was my imagination.

Speaking of punchbags, did you give him a slap?

From the damage to his car, he can't have been going all that quickly, as saxos are made of pretty low grade tinfoil - 15 to 20 max I'd say.

haha good efort by the vectra munching up the front of his car like that. But yeh french cars are made of tinfoil, some girl caught my nearside wheelarch with the offside of her citroen c3 a few months back and caused 1400 worth of damage to her car- the top of the door was bent out by about an inch, new wing, bumper etc. I actually had to look to work out where shed hit the passat, the plastic wheelarch cover was a bit scuffed but that was all

ive got a feeling after taking the bumpers of the passat and seeing the whacking great big lump of steel behind them that it would be a similar case if hed gone up the back of the bus.

hope u dont get any probs with the insurance, the world could do without idiots like that on the road.

Well our car wasn't braking and the hand brake was off as we were about to turn right into the car valet place.
I've been in a car hitting a roundabout about 15mph before and that was really really gentle compared to this.

Gonna work out the physics of it later.

    Saxo vts 935kg
    vectra 1.8 16v 1345kg
imagine the drivers weigh about the same, say 75kg each (they were both same build and russ had fought in that weight category in the past which is how I can guess) and as passenger I add 100kg to the vectra.

so saxo 1010kg and vectra 1520kg
Distance the saxo moved the vectra was about 15metres and russ said we'd moved a fair distance till he had braked,

So saxo of 1010kg moved vectra of 1520kg 13m rolling and 2m braking.
What is the speed of the saxo to move the vectra that far?

not sure if you can work that out as youd need the coeffecient of friction in the car (ie friction in the bearings, drivetrain etc).

was thinking along the lines of uniform acceleration but was too long since i did that for a level physics lol

French cars of that age have a serious crumple zone. My clio was the same. All rear ends are generally made tougher.
