hi all! I am back with my golf running again with new management! Bye bye old kjetronic, hello UA4C speeduino!. Parts used: Passat 16v automatic TB (I had to change tps from this TB for a new one from a clio sport) oem passat TPS is not actually a gradually tps sensor. GOLF IV 1.8t fuel rail. Clio sport 197 deka injectors. GOLF IV 1.6 16v coil pack (with ignitor included). Wideband lambda with 14.7 controller. I used a stock kr airbox with a modified air metering. After having car runing and legal for street i started to play with other airbox types, I gain a couple of point on VE table changing kr airbox (with new clean filter) from a Green cone filter, not bad... Then I tried a CDA carbon airbox, and gain a couple more point on ve table on high rpm from green filter, a bit better too. After that thought on fitting green filter on carbon CDA box,so i had to broke CDA oem filter, which was not so good idea, i loose on high rpm, equal on low rpm AS i couldnt go back to original CDA box I am running this set up now, but i planning to keep study differences with other airbox types. A picture of my clutch sensor for launch and nls: I have a new power plot from my last set up and calibration ecu, meassured it with same app and on same place as previous one wiht kjet: Dots are new plot with speeduino, continuous lines are kjetronic, i still have to work on tune, i had better mid range on kjet, and a drop on torque over 6000 rpm with speeduino. But on other hand i am using car every day and runs very good and smooth. I have noticed that i have my cast exhaust manifold cracked, so i´m going to fit a lhd manifold from EU abf and new exhaust on 2.5", hope it improve a bit engine and noise, which is not very good with oem exhaust and cracked manifolds now. When an ABF engine is mapped correctly, you should be able to merge the low speed benefits of Digifant 3 with the midrange benefits of K_Jetronic, then some. From one of my past threads. In car acceleration as captured by a G meter. Comparison of the Gs with the 1.8 8v Digi 2 engine that was replaced. Engine test on the chassis rolls. Engine test in another chassis with very small tweaks. So I would say you have a bit of work to do on your SEM to bring out the best of the engine at WOT. The airbox matters very little, if you start with non restrictive std components from the start. The same car to this day, with a stock but modified 1.6 TD airbox. If you look on this site, ABF stuff is very well covered. This site can give some insight as to what can be expected from stock and modified 16v engines.
It is from golf IV 1.8t i had to modified a little bit intake manifold to make room for it. Toyotec, i have read all abf threads on forum several times on those years, i have learn a lot reading your posts about abf kjet, how to mega your abf etc... Thanks for sharing so good information. Trying different set ups with airboxs was for studing differences on a boring sunday hehe anyway maybe i will make a custom airbox for seeing if could be improved air, sth like that: ON the other hand this week arrived the lhd manifold, hoping to test it soon, i am driving with cracked cast one now and it makes horrible noise. Now i have just to decide the size for exhaust if 2,25" as stock or 2,5".
HI all! I have tuned my abf on dyno, first runs give 190nm ( 140lbft) and 153 hp after lot of work on remap i get the following plot: Noticed head and bottom are full stock, 191 nm (141lbft) @ 4780rpm and 165 hp @6700rpm, on street car feels better on high rpm, to be honest I expected more power, something similar to the plot toyotec show some post before, but after one day on dyno were not possible to improve from there, afr is set 13 under wot What you think? i am runing kr manifolds and kr TB with abf exhaust manifold and 63mm exhaust. Now thinking on some wilder cams and head work for trying to improve torque and pass 170hp. Quality of picture is really low, not sure why i will tried to upload other better BR.
Hi all, a small upgrade! For covering distributor hole on my abf i used a known expensive aliminium piece from a known web, since i used this piece i had a leak of oil from there, after some tries for solving the leak i discovered that can be use this cam seal from a clio sport ph2 (small seal one), it fits perfectly. 5 euros seal and no more leaks!
I'm doing a standalone now, just got the probe and toothed wheel onto the end of the crank. I wouldn't personally do a standalone system and use a dizzy. If that's any help. Just make sure its well protected from flying stones.. Jon
