Can anyone help on behalf of my mate.

    He's got a Audi A6 TDi, 1.9 - 2002

He has described to me that the car has lost its boost pressure from the turbo, after he had a quick look last night he said it sounds as though the turbo is working/producing pressure, (a sort of lazy blowing noise) but this is being lost and the performance has dropped off completely.

He's checked the Turbo - Inlet pipes and all are OK.

Is there any common faults/easy checks to go for with these symptoms before he puts it in to the main stealer??? .

    Any Audi specialists advice appreciated.

    Cheers.

if the performsnce has dropped off completly, but turbo still wooshes could be the S shapped pipe from the turbo outlet (not viewable from top) tends to slip on the top part of S, going off the 1.9 passats which are very very simliar, failing that a vacumm pipe could of split loosing the turbo controlling vacuum pressure,
pipes are every where so it needs eyes everywhere, at the very front by small rad fan (aircon), or ar the very back common places

failing MAF will normally be a gentle loss of performance over time as it 'wears', unless it's bust a wire or something

that is so similar to what my a4 did once, ecept the audis have metal connectors. it had split the pipe.

if possible. clean the vacs going to the N75. clean out the EGR and try to disable it.

it would be nice to get VAGCOM on there ideally

Top bit of fault diagnosis chaps, spot on, my buddy had a look at the weekend spotted the split and fixed it, had to actually take it off to notice it, many thanks on his behalf.

Anyone got any ideas on the reset tool query as follows:

    Car:

    Audi A6TDi 1.9 - 2002/ early 03 Model

Does anyone know what service reset tool is applicable to the above, is it an OBD - 2???

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers.

the split in mine was only tracable by running my hand along the pipe and then finding there was oil weeping from it.

    glad you got it working

Its an OBD2 on the same year Passat, so I would assume the A6 is the same

service reset can be done on the dash, providing it's not long life servicing
