I have recently seen one type of wheel which has been feautured on alot of cars recently, it looks like a 17"er is chrome and a five spoke design, I've heard someone say that they might be off an Audi TT? Can anyone verify this. There is a photo of one on a Golf in this months Performance VW on page 102 (the one on hydrolics) If somecan help I need to know: 1. Where they can be purchased from? 2. How much are they? 3. Will they fit straight on a MK3 Golf? Thanks Dave
1. Ebay, Audi dealer 2. Loads... 3. I believe so as they are 5x100 the same as the MK3 Golf. But the offset is diferent car : TT PCD : 5 x 100 Offset :28...30 Golf Mk 3 GTi 5 x 100 32...38 These ones ? Edited by: gbolton
Yes those! They look really good. May have to have a look on ebay for some. Is that offset thing going to be an issue? Just got some coilovers from venommotorsport so looking for a decent set of rims to finish it off. Was looking at either those 'competitions' or some ACE 112's Edited by: Dave-in-Herts
Dude, keep checkinhg here too: http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/ttforumbbs/YaBB.pl?board=sell I wanted a set a while ago.
1) AudiTT = A3 = Golf = 5x100 PCD 2) AudiA4 = A6 = Passat = 5x112 PCD 3) need to know above as lots of misleading ads out there 4) buy TT alloys and you will need new tyres - TTs have 225/45 - you will need 205/40 to maintain the right gearing (and for arch clearance) - budget 205/40/17s start from 50. 5) Audi TT alloys = ET 32, Golf = ET43. However Audi wheels are about 25mm wider so they fit OK. 6) I've seen 2 sets of 17" competitions for TT/A3 on ebay since August and none on TTOC. 7) Thats why I bought six spokes. 8) 17s aren't all they're cracked up to be. If you can try a set (hint hint) before you buy then do so.
