I need to reformat/reinstall a computer with Win XP. I recall using something called Driver Magic or something like that when I did it last time, to back up all the drivers. I think it is now obsolete. Has anyone any suggestions as to what I can use this time? Preferably as cheap as poss/shareware? TIA
If it's a Dell, simply copy the c:\drivers folder. If it's a HP, show hidden folders and there's a c:\drivers or c:\hp folder. Can't remember which, I was drunk at the time. Alternatively, download and save off the LAN\ethernet\network drivers for your system and then just re-install.
Thanks. It's an Evesham, 7 years old and has pretty much the usual kit attached to it. Not sure if there is a folder just for drivers and it's not attached to my network (used to be my main machine, but is just standing in the corner gathering dust now, so thought I would set it up for the children to use)
