after a minor accident involving a curb my drivers rear wheel tilts slightly more inwards then the passenger side, would i need to replace the whole rear beam?

I did take it to a volkwagen speclasist and he said that i need to buy a part that would put it right, instead of getting a new rear beam, anyone know?

also are front wishbones still available from vag? dont really wanna get copys as there a poo fit, or so i've read.

could just be the axle stub that's bent! they're more prone to bending than the rear beam itself, altho, both myself and markgolf have managed to bend the rear beam

I found the beam is more likely to go, that`s on a mk 2 though..

You can try a stub axle, cheapest option first.

yup im pretty sure thats what the guy told me to get. Ok where can i get one of these from and how much do the retail at?

Just had a look at the beam, doesnt look to be any differance from the passernger side.

So am i best getting two stub axles to make sure they look the same?

Why would you want a wishbone for the rear?

I think stub axles come in at 20 is per side?

18 each for a stub axle from GSF.

And the 40 for the wishbones is each + a few extra for over the counter price.

349.71 [xx(] they're having a Giraffe . As you say, hopefully shouldn't come to that :) .

You can get a Weber replacement carb for about 140.

    hahaha! thats a joke!

Yea roughly around the same price for the solex. Recently priced the webber up as im having a few problems with mine at the moment. Dont happend to know where i may find a solenoid shut of valve for a webber carb do you? I recently snapped the wire which leads to the coil, still runs without it but it wont idle at all, i all to keep my choke on full just to keep it alive!

My Mk1 also has a little bit too much -ve camber on the passenger side rear. I was wondering whether this was the rear beam or the stub axle and its the next job on my list to fix.

However - when I checked the GSF catalog they didn't do stub axles and VW wanted 96 plus VAT each side! An expensive way to try fixing a problem...
