Hey guys, just got my mk2 back from the garage and the time it's spent off the road has degraded the battery to the point when the engine starts up it runs on 3 cylinders for a couple seconds.

Can anyone recommend a battery with the best CCA but also still value for money?

    thanks

    Yuasa or Varta.

But if it starts, a dodgy battery won't make it run on 3 cylinders.

    Another vote for Yuasa!

Since Bosch took a year off the warranty they offered on each battery and having two fail on me i have stayed away.
I have had a Yuasa on my car for 7 years, no issues and it only gets driven Sat/Sun.
