I've done gone and locked my only key inside the car ('93 mk3 gti). Can anyone tell me what would be the best way in with the easiest/cheapest repair to put right?

The mk2 was easy to break in to using parcel strapping and a pry bar, but with the double locking on the mk3 none of those old tricks are gonna work [:^(] FTR, the cars on it's last legs now so I'm not too worried about how any damage might look.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Ye, good point by pb about the security pov.

Thanks mate, would that be any old locksmith or are there specialist automotive ones? I'll have a look in the yellow pages...

Failing that, a member has PMed a good way forward if it comes to the crunch. Luckily I don't need to use the car straightaway so can check out the options. Thx for the posts

i wish i had posted a thread on the same subject now! I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago i left my keys in the ignition and for reason the central locking decided to lock it self i ended up having to put the the rear quarter glass out with a hammer then passed my 5 year old daughter through to get me the keys out the ignition
