right before my bottomend rebuild, my clutch had the uncooperative biting point.
Also the gearbox was a bit dodge.

But now my clutch is lovely and changing gear is a dream.
    Am i missing something?

Reassembling the clutch may have moved something. When I first fitted a new clutch to my valver it clicked and felt wrong.
It bugged the hell out of me, I took the box off again and re-aligned all the bits and it was fine after. It seems as if the plate that the clutch pushrod pushes on can get put on wonky, and it'll stay wonky.

Just a guess, but yours might have been the same.
