Yeh sorry I mean the feathered variety.

This (think it's a sparrow hawk) was eating a pigeon on the path to my front door when I came home today. It flew off when I got out of the car but came back when I went inside. Didn't seem too bothered that I was watching (literally from about 3m away) so I got a photo.

Its a Musket (Male Sparrowhawk), a fantastic little bird with the heart of a lion.
I had one just like it a few years ago.....

Spotted this heron on a walk a few months back.

He started off on the same side of the river as the shot was taken, but waited for me to get to that side, before hopping over to the opposite side! [:x]

Then I waited an hour for him to catch something...

Some cracking bird pictures in this thread :)

I love the one of the chap cuddling his bird and the one of the multi-coloured parakeets. Are they rosellas?

They are Lorikeets... there's a fair few just round near where we live... bloody noisy too!!

Although I do have pics of Rosellas also (the crimson variety)...

BTW.. the 'chap' is actually bird of the non-feathered variety... close-ups can be not so flattering!

If there's ever a pic thread on kangaroos... I've got soooo may it's just not funny!!
