What is the standard boost pressure of the GTI 1.8T 150bhp Golf.

I think I read some where it is just 7-8psi ???

    cheers

    not sure.
whatever a chip takes the boost to probably.
depending on the cooling, a fmi and a c/c would see a good decrease in temps in allowing you in theory to raise the boost a little more.
although i don't think a ko3 can take more than around 13/14 psi i think, and most chips will make boost at 12??
i await someone to correct me.

    what is your plan?
if you want more than 220hp at the fly then most will suggest a ko4 turbo upgrade or another conversion such as jabbas ihi turbos.

It is not me my mate has just bought a early 2000 one.

Any other tips on tuning etc. Which filters are best Induction kits, panel filters or closed inductions.

Miltex exhausts seem to come up quite abit so are they good ??

If it was me I would be stright down the get one of those Revo chips [:D]

badger5 sell some type of induction kit www.badger5.co.uk , called typhoon or summit, which is quite popular,as for exhasuts, most people i've seen have custom jobs from the likes of powerflow, personally i'd go for a k&n with caf and a scorpion.

Also consider a Miltek exhaust system. Very good.

the KO3 can make over 20 lbs of boost, and still be very efficient.

One of my mates has just had his AGU 1.8T Golf remapped by Jabba, it has a Blueflame exhaust from the cat back and a large cold ducted cone filter, and it made 220 brake after the remap! :) Before the remap he was running the actuator wound up to raise the boost and was good for 16psi!

Use a Green Dynatwist forced induction ait filter, Badger Bill sells these at the best price and is very helpful on telling you what size to order for your car as they come in about 3 different sizes.

Ive got a custom downpipe, and a powerflow exhaust.

As for boost ive got a 225 KO4 engine and is currently running just over 20psi, peaks at about 22psi, and im using a Forge FMIC and DV007 (recirc valve)

    Hope thats helped,

Id guess mine makes roughly 280bhp,

The Forge DV007 didnt make any noticeable difference, but the plastic one would have given up the ghost running over 20psi, the forge one is supposed to hold boost better. I was only running about 12psi when i had the standard bosch one so it was still working fine.
