I have two sets of 17" wheels all with 225/45 17 tyres.
My summer wheels are MK5 GTI 17" Monza's with Continental Sportcontact 3's fitted (91W rating)
My regular/winter's are what came on my 2014(2015 facelift model) GT 150ps TDI with the EA288 engine which also has 225/45 17 as standard.
Have noted that these are XL tyres on it now and from I can find the 2014 > Jetta GT should always have Extra Load tyres fitted.

Anyway standard wheels having winters fitted later as fronts now less than 3mm.

My summers have 225/45 17 tyres (Conti Sportcontact 3's) with 91W rating and not XL fronts now 2mm due replacement and chose some Conti Sportcontact 5's XL as replacement - 148 in total for 2 tyres -which buy loose from tyre suppliers and will get fitted by "The Wheel Specialist" company as the only ones yet who haven't marked my wheels when fitting (unlike ATS/Kwik fit/etc would seem incapable of fitting tyres without damaging refurbished wheels).
Have been told my MK5 Monza alloys which I had on my old 2007 Jetta TDI 140 Sport will fit my current 2014 Jetta as a straight bolt fitment with nothing else needed.

Anyway my question is this will now have 2x Conti Sportcontact 3's 91W rated (non XL) with 6mm on and my new Conti Sportcontact 5's (XL) rated at 94Y mix on my four Monza's is this going to be a big big issue??? It was my error as I wrongly stated higher rating D'oh but looking back on internet most Conti Sportcontact 5 stock's are 94Y XL and no price difference of more than 2 or 3 between 91W or 94Y......
Obviously I know about keeping same ratings same axles which I will do, which best front or rear as a mix of Sportcontact 3's 91W non XL x2 and Sportcontact 5's 94Y x2.

Didn't releaise tell looking at rating my Jetta is unlikely to go 186mph!!!! But for sure (have done so) 135mph is quite possible.
Might also add drive my car's hard (it's also my tow car as race karts) and whatever VW I have does do as a standard road car the yearly VW days on track at Castle Combe and don't use track tyres just quality road tyres that I have fitted - last 3 years 17" Conti Sportcontact tyres.
Seems hassle to go back with the Sportcontact 5's to change from 94Y (as most common stock carried) for 91W rated ones.

I'm guilty of making posts like that myself, but I have to say the clarity isn't good. It makes my head hurt, but from a skim read.

Put the lesser tyres on the back. A higher speed rating sometimes just means there are additional reinforcement/tie ons between the side wall mesh where it meets the steel rim bead.

I know complicated to explain on a post. confirmed my thinking, time to gentle bed in the sportcontact 5's before Combe in July ;). Monza's will fit a 2014 Jetta :) :) modern with a bit of retro :) :).

    W rated = 168mph
    Y rated = 186mph

    91 load = 615kg per tyre (1230kg per axle)
    94 load = 670kg per tyre (1340kg per axle)

Put the new 5's on the front and the old 3's on the back and don't go over 168mph!!!!

Thanks K7sus have no idea why VW use W rated on the Jetta GT TDI as the stated rating to use anyway, will try to stay under 168mph!!
Would the new contactsport 5's be a better handling tyre (apart it being a new breed of contactsport) as its s 94Y over a 91W? .........if so think will just go 94Y in future as my Monza's are my summer tyres/track tyres and come winter tuck away in the warm and plan to use for many years as I can on my future VW's/current VW.
