does anybody recon a set of '84 cb900 carbs would be a good starting point for a mild 8v digi conversion? TIA Mark
May as well just convert DCOE/DHLA carbs if you're going to go to the trouble of blocking off the barrels and fitting injectors anyway. A dodgy pair of DCOE/DHLAs is only the price of bike carbs anyway. If you want to do carbs properly I've got a pair of perfect condition, fully rebuilt DHLAs for sale which would work a treat on that xflow of yours.
good thoughts, it's not for the x-flow btw. But fabricating a manifold for the digi head looks like a right pig, so a ready made dcoe one appeals, any idea what they go for? Bearing in mind that the bike TB idea is supposed to b a cheap option!
Don`t use those carbs, they are hideous! you want some decent Syzuki Hyabusa (sp) bodies as a starting point.
thanks m8, i had an idea that was the case from the setup/drawings i've seen on the net, just wanted some conformation really, they were cheap tho.....
Trust me you`ll have no end of bother with the `84 CB900 carbs, they weren`t the best, design has got a lot better over the years. If you can get a later set of carbs cheap then it`s an option but I`d be going with the bike throttle bodies personally. GSXR 1000`s have twin butterfly tb`s one set being servo driven supposed to give max power at all throttle openings, works very well on the bike! Would be interesting to see anyone gettint that working on a car.
