Selling an entire 16v magnex system on ebay...., someone just bid on it and asked me if it would fit an 8v.

How is the downpipe designed on an 8v? Does it meet at the same point, and if so, then he can use a reducer pipe if it's a smaller bore?

i fitted a stainless 16v exhaust i had lying around to a mates 8v. it went on, but didnt look right, it hung at the wrong angle. perhaps the downpipe sits funny on an 8v

well for a start the 8v and 16v use different diameter system pipes so you'd need a reducer pipe at least

8V pipe is 53mm and 16V is 57mm if memory serves me correct and the hangers etc are the same on an 8V as they are on a 16V as my old 16V had an 8V Mangex system fitted [:D]

My 8V has a 16v system fitted, but I think if you are fitting the full system it should bolt straight on. However, if you are fitting a 16v backbox to an existing 8V system a sleeve (reducer) is needed.

I have not owned one but I know mates who have and both back up what I said.

One of the owners took his valver to stealth recently for a set up and Vince himself commented on the very same thing as his exhaust was a magnex...

Obviously you can't rely on what everyone says, it's down to personal choice on what you prefer at the end of the day..

Magnex......now where is my long bargepole! ;)

The big restriction problem is the backbox design...or the rubbish solid downpuipe design

Early Magnex systems had a straight through design with 2 pipes going thru the backbox which aint too bad, tho it didnt give me a noticeable gain. 16v & 8v systems are seperate too..These systems had the awful solid downpipes tho [:^(] Avoid solid downpipes like the plague

This design was later dropped due to customer feedback & requests for a quieter system. This system was downpipe back & had a very large bore (2.75") but a multi pass back box & single restrictive pea shooter outlet into whichever tail pipe was chosen...(6x4 Oval, DTM, 3" Straight)

My early system was swapped for a later design under warranty after it cracked 4 sets of downpipes, but it lost BHP over the old system [xx(]

this system im selling has the flexi pipes and isnt a ridiculous bore  same system paul16v has, and thats a nice sounding and beneficial system to engine gains coupled with other choice mods [:^:]
