Looking to get an alarm on my mk2 16v.

I've been quoted 400 - 450 installed for a Clifford Cat 1 by a local audio shop who have a good name and I've used them before on previous golfs.

Thing being is that I have a decent insurance premium and they are not asking for an alarm to be installed so to spend that on a Cat 1 seems pointless.

Just wondering what are the main differances between a Cat 1 & 2 as I would just want it alrmed for peice of mind

    Thanks.

    Thanks for that.

a cat 2 will be sufficient as I already have a good immobiliser.

As for the A606i, I did look into it but it's the same price as the clifford. I have also read that the after / customer care from Toad is really pretty bad. If i go to the local audio shop then if anything does go wrong then it's only a short distance and I'll get a good service, plus "support your local" and all that!.

    Cheers.
