This may be a long shot but I have a Seat Leon and was wanting to change the red leds for blue ones. I am assuming that they are the same size as the MK4 Golf ones but need to know what size and how many.
Another thing, are the dials easy to access on a MK4 Golf or should I take it to a dealer to change?

Cheers, any help will be great. :)

I've got a dismantled set of MK4 GTI clocks in front of me and they have six LEDs around each of the large dials (speedo and tacho) and four for the petrol and temp needles.

There are 15 LEDs behind the MFA LCD screen which light up orange.

This is just counting the backlight LEDs not the other ones used to light up warning lights etc.

They are all surface mount and can tell you that they will be a pain to change. I'd stick with the red ones.

Very true, but I still love the look of the VW dials. [:^(] [:D]
