Ok never had this before in a couple of thousand track miles over the years, but was at Coombe in Golfy yesterday (epic day- those who considered it but diddnt come you missed an absolutly ace day- lovely sunny & hot, open pit, 100 db, 6 on track at a time & very empty)

Anyway I digress- as normal checked wheel nuts on the morning & all fine but just before lunch i get big wheel shake & vibration, pull into pits not quite sure what i was going to find- but fearing the worst, jacked it up & all it was that the wheel nuts are very loose!

Quite odd (got quite long bolts too) but you can bet I now check wheels nuts after each session at the same time as the tyre pressures as a wheel coming off is not what im really after!

the only time I had it couple times on the same wheel, the wheel bearing gave up big time

no noise / vibation, then boom wheel had to be tightened every 40/50 motorway miles [:[]

next day I pulled hub apart only to find the bearing fall out [!]

Didn't believe they could come loose in such a short space of time, but yep, they did...

Good advice for all trackers. :)

Never had this but do check them all the time.

Be carefull if you torque them up when you first come in as I have had a lot of standard bolts stretch on me if they are a bit hot from heavy braking.
