I have a 04 1.8t mk4 gti. Does a chip affect the internals of the engine because of the increase in power. Or can the engine handle the power. Will the engine last as long with a chipped then if it did not have a chip.thanks chris

The only real asnwer to this is testamonials from other 20vt who have experienced longevity with their chipped mk4s.
Evidence suggests the 0vt is more than capable of handling extra power. Remember, in essence, the 180 is just a chipped version of the 150, and the 225 a version of the 210.So theres much scope.
Wether its here, seat or skoda forums, you'll find near on everyone with 20vt's have chipped them. As always maintenance of the engine is mandatory.
A popular choice for chippin is a revo ecu reprogram which is undetectable to vag. You can also get a switch to flip between fuel maps!
