Hi, I have a '91 8v mk 2 GTi- generally runs fine but recently has started to chug sometimes in low gear. Seems fine in 3rd gear upwards. I recently replaced the throttle control valve as the engine was idling really high - don't know if thats got anything to do with it? Any suggestions of what I should look for??? Cheers, Rinky
Cheers! Will give that a go. A couple of what might be stupid questions though - you will have to forgive me, I am blonde What is a blue temp sender? What is CO? And what is MFA? Sorry if these are all simple things! Thanks
well the blue temp sender is a temp sender... that is blue its for the engine managment so it knows how hot the engine is, if you look on the front of the engine you'll see it. CO is a measure of how rich/lean the engine is running, its the idle mixture. MFA is the multi-function-analyser(?) which is the wee display on the clocks controled by the buttons on your wiper stalk
I had a feeling that might be your answer! Thats cool - thanks. Will have a look at the weekend and see what happens...
