Suggestions welcomed as to what to clean the crud that accumulates on engine boost hoses, they are red ones too just to add that in the mix (came with the intercooler, not a fashion choice)

    Cheers me dears

    Ultrasonic cleaner?
What is the crud? General oil and dirt or something else. What have you tried so far?

General dirt I think, @PhilRyder you've seen my garage, it's in there behind the mg!! I will pull car out later and hope to get some pictures, not tried anything yet, soapy water has been suggested too, but definitely nothing petrol based. @Tristan that's a good idea.
I will update later, hopefully , unless I've done a scott of the antarctic in there, if I'm gone too long, don't send a search party!

I find a combination of white spirit, wd40 and washing up liquid shift most things (not necessarily in that order or all at the same time ;) )

I hear great things about sugar soap but I've not used it.

Apparently wd40 and petrol based stuff discoloured the hoses, sugar soap might be an idea, plus think have some at work from repainting a kitchen we made 12 years ago.

Best degreaser for engines I’ve ever found is Jet A-1, that’s Kerosene if you’re from over the pond. Shifts old waxoyl and under seal products too. No where near as flammable as Petrol. I use it all the time. Not sure of effects on rubber or silicone though? I get it from a local-ish airfield in a gerry can. Costs about a quid a litre. Fill up a hand sprayer and you’re away. Just don’t cough while using it or you might end up in Tokyo!

Did you try that sugar soap @dodgy - I'm curious to know if it was any good.

    *hopefully.

They were due 2 weeks ago, (again) and had glass missing. Suppose its another one on the list, covid, delivery drivers, glass plant closed for maintenance, doors too wide, and sidescreens glass too big for orientation.
Fingers crossed. Plus its due to be horsing it down with rain.
