Hi everyone, i have a Clifford Concept 300 alarm im trying to connect to my old computer via serial cable using the Cliffnet Wizard 2.20 on XP, but when I open the program up it keeps saying "Port available but system could not be found" so I was wondering if the alarm had to be in the car? I have a car battery and the PC in the spare room and was going to connect just the alarm module directly to the battery and PC would this still work?

you need to make sure that the 2 main power and 2 main earths are powered up and also make sure it is not in valet mode
you may also need to connect the ignition input wire to the + on the battery too
    and it should then work
i take it you have the 4 digit valet code?
why do you want to program it out of the car and what are you trying to adjust?
