ive got 2 golfs , both have have dual zone prox sensors. i feel theyre not too consistant, i.e its very sensitive on the screen yet no so on door glass

ive been told that under the console isnt the best place for it, and that the roof is better

what i wanted to ask is if anyone has theirs on the roof, and where exactly..im thinking its going to make the headliner lumpy, and id like to avoid that if possible

stick it in the sunroof winder panel (the bit in between the rear view mirror and sunroof)

don't put it in the console, the heat from the exhaust will affect it and it'll go off all the time as the tunnel cools down.

ok, no, it doesn't have to be mounted on metal. and it has nothing to do with the windows either.

it has to be mounted as close to the centre of the car as possible really, up in the headlining gives best all round protection and is least prone to false alarms.

okay thats the point of my post, i imagine the sunroof winder is to far forward and i cant see how to mount it behind the sunroof without there being a lump in the headliner

the sensor is only about 6mm thick, there should be room for it, it's just the chew on of getting it behind there.

yes, it's polystyrene, it doesn't bend, it cracks.[:s]

it work very well up in the courtesy light.sunroof panel, just keep it awa from the light as the heat problem will occur.

Mine was at the far end of the center console behind the gear stick far end (close to the seat belt end)

It fitted straight in from what i can make out, but i kept getting false alarms because of the heater air that goes through, so i just disconnected mine :)

sorry no real help, but don't put it there :)
