Had a tassle with some bronze coloured clio thing today, reckon it was a 172. Stayed on my arse upto 120 on a B road and seemed to keep up well.

was almost impressed, thought id share it.

Id buy a Clio 182 tomorrow if i could afford one. 12,778 brand new from Car Select (Lloyds TSB) and nothing from VAG can compete for the same price.

They are ugly though, and that goldy colour is shocking. [:s]

how much you gonna loose on it in the first three years though?

i'm sure you'd loose more than on a golf.

(of course, the clever thing would be to buy a three year old one)

Evo 7 or STi is actually pretty slow in gears. Of course comfortably quicker than the 182, but people often look at the stats and say "wow! 0-60 in 5 seconds!" The only reason they get these times is because you can ditch the clutch at 7k with only a hint of wheelspin - 60ft times are amazing.

A good example is our WRX (about to be traded in on a Clio!!). It will flog the 400BHP Aussie V8's at the lights but anywhere else, they'll pull 5 car lengths on the Rex in a heartbeat...

My Seat still can't beat a WRX from a standing start but in gear they have no chance except uphill
